How is working for 1800flowers going for you? How much do you make/how consistent is the work/what do you do, etc? Any information would be really appreciated! Thanks in advance!

I wouldn't ever recommend for anyone to work there. I was hired to take orders over the phone from home. I went through a week of training and it was a nightmare. I have never felt so unprepared to do a job after going through their training class in my life.

The last day of training, they had us taking orders and I had almost completed an order (all that was left was to give her the order number and confirm the delivery address) but suddenly had a computer issue. I told the customer I would call her right back as soon as I got the issue straightened out, but before that happened, our shift had ended. I told my trainer, anticipating I would be told to call the customer back and would be paid overtime for doing so. This was not the case. I was actually told to forget about it and if the caller was serious about placing her order, she would call back. I worked the phones for Disney for 7 years and this sort of costumer service would NOT be acceptable there and it drove me crazy.

My class of about 10 people were all hired as seasonal workers for Valentine's Day. We were told that because we were seasonal we would get to pick our schedules, but would be required to work a minimum of 40 hrs the week before and of Valentine's Day. In reality, after our training, only a few people actually were given any shifts to work and those that did had horrible schedules to pick from. Suddenly, in the middle of one of their shifts (and before Valentine's Day), all of the seasonal people were fired.

Also, they actually tried to withhold my training pay. I only got it after many emails to various departments and managers.

Maybe other people had a better time with them, but I will never apply to work for them again.

I think Workplacelikehome is my favorite forum for the topic, but boy do people go into a frenzy via PM when you say you can't talk about something due to Non-Disclosure and think you'll break it in private :/

I tried applying for 1800Flowers and they rejected me based on my personality test! I have never been so insulted via the computer. :

By any chance were you hired at 1800f as seasonal for Valentine's Day? I ask because my training class was all seasonal people and we trained from Jan 28-Feb 1. During training we were told we would be working this week and next, but none of us have gotten any hours posted for either week. So I'm just wondering if we were misinformed or if other seasonal people are working this week.
